Springville, Utah
June 21, 2022 - ATL Technology (“ATL”), a joint development manufacturing partner to top medical device firms, announced the acquisition of BioVision Technologies, LLC (“BioVision”).
ATL has a proven track record of developing custom interconnect solutions for energy driven medical devices. Using an engineer-to-engineer approach over the last two decades, the company has been expanding capabilities as a trusted partner to develop and manufacture complete medical device assemblies to meet customer needs.
“This strategic acquisition supports the expansion of our medical imaging and access business unit, more specifically, the development and manufacture of single use minimally invasive procedural devices. Incorporating BioVision’s 30 years of endoscopy and medical industry expertise with disposable scopes will give us the opportunity to closely partner with our customers and offer the complete solutions they require,” Brad Brown, CEO of ATL.
BioVision was established in 2003 as an original developer of disposable scopes for in-office arthroscopy and TMJ procedures. Their expertise also extends into disposable catheter systems with specific emphasis on epidural and sinus procedures.
“The demand for single-use camera-based scopes and devices is greater now than it has ever been. We originated the PREVOYANCE® plug and play camera assembly as a starting point for engineers to design cameras into next gen imaging devices. The inclusion of the BioVision camera control unit / image signal processor into the PREVOYANCE® family of products, enables ATL the ability to provide our joint development and manufacturing partners a complete imaging system for their products. Incorporating Dave (Sanso) and his years of expertise into ATL’s engineering team is an enormous benefit to ATL.” Mike Anderson, Managing Director, Imaging and Access Business Unit.
ATL will be fully integrating the capabilities from BioVision into the company’s current range of development and full-service manufacturing offerings. Dave, founder of BioVision, will also continue as Imaging Innovation and Development Fellow. In this role, he will support the minimally invasive business unit with a focus on imaging and access devices requiring camera modules for guidance and imaging with his decades of knowledge and expertise to bring value to ATL customers.
